An orthotic is a device that is designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. Custom biomechanical foot orthotics allow the feet and legs to function optimally by maintaining the proper relationship between the bones of the feet and the leg. Unlike the generic orthotics you can purchase over the counter, CTS' custom orthotics are created to fit the specific needs and the unique characteristics of your anatomy, the activities in which you partake, and the particular shoes you wear.
A therapist will evaluate how you move and take measurements of your feet. A detailed analysis of this information will allow corrective modifications to be built into the orthotics at specific landmarks. Plaster molds of the feet are made and corrective postings are added to assist in controlling and aligning the foot during activity. The molds are sent to our orthotic fabricator and in a matter of days the finished orthotics are ready to wear and optimize your movement!
