Gwen Dorn, OT, CHT
Gwen has been a practicing Occupational Therapist for 30 years. She became a CHT in 2006 after graduating from the Kaiser Permanente's Hand Therapy Fellowship Program. From 2009-2013, she was on the clinical staff and was a clinical mentor for the Fellowship Program.
Her accomplishments include presenting at the ASHT Comprehensive Survey Course, the ASHT Annual Preconference Course, and Kaiser's Annual Upper Extremity Orthopedic Conference. In 2012 she presented Tendones Flexores in Spanish to the physical and occupational therapy departments at the Instituto Nacional de Seguros, San Jose, Costa Rica.
Throughout her OT career she has practiced hand therapy; however, her most rewarding experience as a CHT was at South County Orthopedic Specialists from 2007-2011. She just retired from full time employment from Kaiser Permanente's OT hand clinic. She is a member of AOTA, ASHT, and OTAC and is the treasurer of the South County Hand Therapy Study Group. Moreover, she is a board member of ASHT's Advanced Practice Standards committee.
Her other interests include collecting hand jewelry, walking, bird watching, cooking, spending time with her husband, Dave and 5 year old toodle (poodle-terrier), Jake.
